In 1999 the Phoenix Children's Hospital approached John Fitzgerald and Pat Moran to adopt their annual corporate golf tournament as a Hospital Signature Event.
John and Pat successfully planned this annual event for six years prior to that date, in an effort to fulfill a corporate responsibility to give back to the community and their own personal goals of making a difference. The founders reached out to others in the community to embrace the event in partnership with the Hospital, and created the cornerstone of what is now one of the best charity golf tournaments in Arizona. In that first year, over $100,000 was raised for Phoenix Children's.
Many of the founding committee members are still active today including Barry Gabel, Rhet Andrews, Toby Blair, John Fitzgerald, Jeremy Keck, Erik Kelly, Dave Stewart, and Kim Wickey. These members were joined by a continuously growing group of volunteers that each bring a unique strength to the committee and have allowed the tournament to raise over $2.3 million in cumulative funds to date.
